A hidden rainforest paradise right on the beachfront of Belongil Beach, Byron Bay.

This one of a kind retreat is located at Belongil in Byron Bay and provides absolute beachfront to the east and riverfront to the west. Within the stunning tropical gardens are four individual tree houses - Shanti, Sarita, Shiva and Samadhi. Shanti, Sarita and Samadhi each including their own outdoor jacuzzi. Each property is completely self-contained and are linked by floating walkways and expansive outdoor entertaining areas. Shanti has a delightful shared terrace overlooking the ocean. Samadhi enjoys a private terrace with barbeque and outdoor dining area with its spa overlooking the ocean. Each house can be booked individually, or the entire retreat can accommodate up to thirteen people providing absolute privacy. The landscaping of this property reflects the Feng Shui of the site to include a seven-pool waterfall, white buddha pond, waterfall daybeds and stone rotunda. Idyllic gardens filled with exotic rainforest species, and giant rose quartz and amethyst crystals ensures that Shambhala is the perfect healing retreat. Each house includes flat screen televisions, wireless broadband access and reverse cycle air-conditioning. Common areas include steam room, sauna, spas & daybeds and hammocks with sea or river views and full laundry facilities. In-house massages can be arranged for your luxary. Cancellation Policy

Please inform Shambhala @ Byron of your expected arrival time in advance. You can use the Special Requests box when booking, or contact the property directly using the contact details in your confirmation.

The New South Wales Government has issued a mandatory code of conduct outlining the rights and obligations of people either hosting or renting accommodations on a short-term basis, including a complaints process.

A 50% deposit is due at the time of booking, with the remaining payment due 30 days before arrival.

1. PAYMENT POLICY 50% deposit is due for accommodation booked on the site at the time of booking and you agree to make payment via a debit to your nominated credit card. 30 days before arrival the remaining 50% will be debited. The amount debited will (subject to the following) be the amount shown on our booking page plus a 1% credit card surcharge for Visa or MasterCard and a 3% surcharge for AmEx. Depending upon the currency of the booking, your credit card's currency and the country in which your card was issued, your credit card provider may impose foreign exchange fees and other fees which are in accordance with your arrangements with that credit card provider.

2. CANCELLATIONS Your booking deposit is transferrable up to 30 days prior to your arrival date. The 50% deposit can be transferred to any future stays within a 2-year period. Bookings are non-refundable and non-transferable less than 30 days prior to the arrival date. All changes and cancellations must be given in writing. Shambhala @Byron reserves the right to cancel the booking due to unforeseen circumstances. Please note no credit or refund will be given in whole or part for days not used resulting from late arrival or premature departure.

3. SECURITY BOND A security bond of $500 per house applies. This amount will be held against your credit card during your stay and auto released unless there is damage to the property upon your departure. Damages are not limited to the security bond amount and costs may include replacement and repair of any damaged items, labour, staff costs and loss of any rental from forthcoming bookings. A minimum charge of 1 day's rental may apply if restoration work is to be completed on a house, with the daily rate applicable until repairs are finalised. The premises must be left clean, tidy and in good condition. Management reserves the right to charge for any extra cleaning required to be deducted from the security bond. Failure to comply with the terms & conditions may result in charges against your security bond.

4. GUEST NUMBERS The number of guests stated on your booking form indicates the agreed number of guests your tariff covers. This must be strictly adhered to, and the management of Shambhala@Byron reserves the right to ask guests to vacate the property should this not be adhered to. In this event there will be no refund applicable. The facilities and equipment are strictly for the use of registered guests only and at no time should non-registered persons use these. If you invite visitors to the property, you will be held responsible for any property damage or personal injury they incur during their stay. All visitors to Shambhala@Byron will be required to vacate the property by 9:00pm, unless previously agreed to by Shambhala Management.

5. PERMITTED USAGE
There shall be no smoking inside any of the cottages at any time. A cleaning fee of $500 per house will be charged if this occurs.
The guest must undertake to respect all relevant legislation both local and other during their stay.
The property may only be used for residential accommodation. Any other usage is not permitted unless agreed in writing by Shambhala@Byron management. Guests are not permitted to arrange/hire third party contractors to come on-site without prior approval of Shambhala@Byron management. All third party contractors must forward copies of any relevant insurance to Shambhala@Byron management if approval is granted.
We reserve the right to ask guests to vacate the property should this not be adhered to. In this event there will be no refund of monies.
This property does not have any policies, procedures or resources in place to accommodate the unique needs of school graduates during the annual "Schoolies Week" period. It does not have adequate resources to engage qualified security personnel to guarantee the safety, comfort, and convenience of school graduate guests during this period. We do not accept bookings for "Schoolies".

6. RESPONSIBILITY/LOSS OR DAMAGE TO THE PROPERTY Please be advised we are not responsible for any loss of or damage to personal equipment and property during your stay with us or during your participation in any of our arranged activities. Nor will we be responsible for any loss or damage to vehicles or property contained within such whilst parked on or entering /leaving the premises.
We will not accept any responsibility for any delay, additional expense or inconvenience which may be caused directly or indirectly by events outside our control such as late arrival of international or domestic flights or transport, civil disturbances, fire, flood, and unusually severe weather, acts of God, acts of government or failure of any machinery or equipment.

7. CHECK IN / CHECK OUT TIMES Check in time is 2.00pm and check out time is 10.00am.
Should you wish to extend these times please request upon making your reservation. A half-day room rate for a 5:00pm checkout is possible, subject to availability.

8. INVENTORY At no time may any items be removed from the property. The cost of any missing items will be charged to your credit card.

9. BYRON BAY HLO MEMBERSHIP We are members of the Byron Bay Holiday Letters Organisation and by signing you also agree to be bound by their terms and conditions. These can be found at:

We have listed their noise, party, and consequences of not meeting terms and conditions policies below:

10. NOISE & RESIDENTIAL AMENITY Guests must not create noise which is offensive to neighbours especially between 10pm – 8am and during arrival & departure at any time throughout the occupancy. Offensive noise may result in eviction with loss of rental paid & charges against the security bond. Guests must abide by any noise abatement conditions, standards, and orders issued by police or any regulatory authority to minimise impacts upon the residential amenity of neighbors and local community.

11. FUNCTIONS & PARTIES The property is not a “party house” and any such activities are strictly prohibited. Any Shambhala @Byron approved gathering, celebration, or entertainment must not conflict with residential amenity and must comply with all house rules.

12. CONSEQUENCES OF NOT MEETING TERMS & CONDITIONS We have a strict 2 strike policy. First offence will result in a minimum HLO fine of, but not limited to, $200 plus our staff call-out fee billed at $50 per hour. The second offence will result in the loss of security bond and guests will be asked to vacate the property. Non compliance can include enforcement action from owner, staff member, security service, local councils, or in some instances, the police. Enforcement action is subject to the Australian Consumer Law & other relevant legislation. Such enforcement will result in termination of permission to occupy the property, eviction, loss of rental paid, deductions from security deposits, and extra charges. All guests should be aware of their obligations and of their responsibilities to make any visitor to the property aware of these requirements to maintain the amenity of the property and its neighborhood.
