The Empire Hotel is home to 24 accommodation rooms, bar, gaming, restaurant and bottleshop, which is everything you need for your stay in Queenstown, located on the West Coast of Tasmania. The real feel of the authentic West Coast, with hospitality to match.
.The grand old lady of the West Coast with a prominent facade in the town streetscape. Built in 1901 it dates back to the wealth of the mining era at the turn of the 20th Century. . Inside is a National Trust listed staircase made from Tasmanian Blackwood. The raw timber was shipped to England, carved and sent back to Queenstown where it has enjoyed a rich history and is admired by all. The restaurant is set in a large traditional dining room with a sense of the grandeur of the past. In cold conditions the open fire is lit for added warmth and ambiance. Accommodation is modest, clean and comfortable. Opposite is the meticulously restored Abt Railway that attracts visitors worldwide and runs through spectacular rainforest to Strahan.

From the West Coast Visitor Information and Booking Centre, The Esplanade, Strahan, turn right (R) and continue along the Esplanade, turning left (L) into Harold Street. At the top of Harold Street, turn right (R) into Reid Street and continue onto Queenstown. Once in Queenstown drive past The Works, CMT and down Penghana Road. Turn right (R) across the bridge and continue onto the intersection, turning right (R) through town, past the library. The Empire Hotel is located on the corner, across from the Train Station.
Cancellation Policy
• Best Flexible Rates: Free cancellation is permitted up until 24 hours prior to the check-in date and time. Cancellations received prior to this will not incur any room charges and will be eligible for a full refund.
Booking cancellations made within 24 hours prior to the check-in date and time will incur a charge for the full stay.
Notice to shorten your stay must be provided 24 hours prior to your intended check out date to avoid the full charge for the night(s) cancelled.
• Non-refundable Rates are "Saver" "Saver Minimum Stay" deals "Seniors" etc rates:
Require full prepayment at the time of booking. Amendments cancellations or refunds are not permitted.
• No Shows: If a guest does not arrive on their scheduled check-in date they will be considered a “No Show”. All No Show bookings will be cancelled. If the booking was made on Best Flexible Rate they will be charged for the full stay.
If the booking was made on one of the Non-refundable Rates the entire booking will be cancelled and no refund will be provided.
