The Dugongs’ Rest offers top quality cabin style accommodation on Horn Island. The fully self-contained and well appointed cabins offer private ensuite and air-conditioning. Free guest Wi-Fi, free continental breakfast and free airport transfers are all included.
With a courtesy bus to collect you on arrival at Horn Island airport, and a yummy daily continental breakfast, you're sure to start the day just right! We're located directly in front of the Horn Island jetty where you can catch regular ferry crossings to Thursday Island, enjoying the warm salty air of the tropical Torres Strait Islands.

Cancellation Policy
Dugongs Rest specific Terms and Conditions:
Please read the terms and conditions before booking. Upon booking, you are deemed to have agreed to the below terms and conditions.
General Terms:
Guests must provide a driver’s licence/passport for identification purposes, mobile phone contact number and valid email address and valid credit card details at the time of check in. Check in time is from 3pm and check out time is by 10am. Failure to check out by 10am may result in additional costs being charged unless prior arrangements have been made with reception. Management will try to accommodate requests for early check in/later check out however they will be subject to availability and additional cost. Smoking is strictly prohibited in all cabins, cabin decks and BBQ common area. A cleaning fee from $300 plus will be added to your room charge to cover any costs associated with additional cleaning or loss of revenue resulting from prohibited smoking. In the event whereby smoking in any cabins sets off a false fire alarm a fee of $1100 will apply.
Room Conditions:
Property is for guests only. No outside guests are permitted on the premises without prior arrangement in writing from management. The number of occupants must not exceed the number of persons shown on your confirmation. Any increase in number must be agreed in advance and may incur additional fees.
The maximum number of guests per cabin is 2. There is no capacity for extra beds at this property.
Excessive noise and parties are not permitted as they can cause disruption to other guests. Drunken or disorderly behaviour will not be tolerated.
Excess Cleaning, Damages and Charges:
The Dugongs’ Rest requests guests to leave the property as it was found to avoid extra cleaning charges. This includes washing dishes, placement of rubbish in the bins provided and cleaning of the BBQ if used. Housekeeping will strip the beds and will clean the floors so this not required by the guests. Cleaning charges may apply if the walls, floors, windows and/or linen are excessively dirty. In the event of breakages, damages and lost items, The Dugongs’ Rest requests that guests advise management to report the incident as soon as possible. Intentional damages or theft will result in charges to the supplied credit card.
Cancellation Policy:
You can cancel for free up until 1 day before arrival. You'll be charged the total price of the reservation if you cancel within 24 hours of arrival. If you don't show up, the no-show fee will be the same as the cancellation fee.
Free cancellation deadlines are in the property's time zone – AEST. There is no refund for early departure before the booked date.

We offer accessible accommodation, and with prior management approval, will consider allowing your special needs animal to accompany you.
